Why a site about prayer?

The purpose of this site is to encourage us to each go deeper in our prayer life. One way that we do that is by praying together. Another way we do that is by praying individually yet collectively on the same prayer themes. Our hope is that as we share prayers and reflect on them and pray over them at the same time in our individual lives, the Holy Spirit will speak to each of us and allow us to encourage and edify one another in prayer.

Prayer of Pause

My Father, train my soul, today, to pause. When the enemy attacks, hurling words that causes me to take my eyes off of you. . . When I feel weak, and helpless to do anything but fail again.
I will stop.
I will look up.
No matter what comes, I will say, "but you, O Lord, are my helper."

  1. Give me the strength to stop - to pause - and put my eyes on you. You alone.

  3. Jesus, please give me this pause. Give me this pause to receive the patience, love, truth, wisdom, power, or whatever it is you want to give me in any given moment. Please train me to pause and listen for you before I react. I so desperately want to love people with your heart. Take me and remake me. Thank you for grace, thank you for fresh starts, thank you somehow even my mistakes can bring you glory! Jesus, my eyes are on you! You will keep me and you are conforming me to your image for your glory and your purposes! I rest in that truth. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.

  5. When I feel weak and helpless to fail again, i can pause - fix my eyes on you - and you meet me right there. You welcome me to your presence, not judging me but loving me and delighting in me. Eyes on you Jesus! In Christ alone!!! Thank you Lord. I love you and adore you. Amen.

  7. In order to intentionally lean on you as I prayed so often last week, I must begin by pausing to see you - to find you - to lock my gaze into your gaze so that our eyes meet. Then, I can settle into your rest. Then, I can settle into life with you in the center of my sight! Amen.

  8. Train me, Lord. Teach me to pause. Again and again. Create a new default in me that stops, pauses, turns my eyes to you, and leans on you. Amen.
