Why a site about prayer?

The purpose of this site is to encourage us to each go deeper in our prayer life. One way that we do that is by praying together. Another way we do that is by praying individually yet collectively on the same prayer themes. Our hope is that as we share prayers and reflect on them and pray over them at the same time in our individual lives, the Holy Spirit will speak to each of us and allow us to encourage and edify one another in prayer.

Weekly Collect Oct 2

Weekly Collect Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer

Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

  6. ...forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid...

Lord I thank you that you have abundant mercy when it comes to our fears. Thank you that you reveal our fears to us, and that your perfect love casts out all fear. There is no fear in love and you are love, God. So there is no fear in you. Thank you for revealing our fears to us, showing us what we are afraid of and revealing that darkness to us so that we can bring it into the healing light of Jesus. Jesus, you are the light of life. Thank you Father. Thank you Son. Thank you Holy Spirit for your healing love. Amen.
