Why a site about prayer?

The purpose of this site is to encourage us to each go deeper in our prayer life. One way that we do that is by praying together. Another way we do that is by praying individually yet collectively on the same prayer themes. Our hope is that as we share prayers and reflect on them and pray over them at the same time in our individual lives, the Holy Spirit will speak to each of us and allow us to encourage and edify one another in prayer.

Confession of Sin Prayer

From the Book of Common Prayer, Holy Eucharist II

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name.
Amen.

  2. Holy and merciful God - I confess I have sinned against you. Thought. Word. Deed. Both things I have done and left undone. I confess not loving you with my whole heart. I confess not loving my neighbor as myself. Today I begin anew. Praise you, Lord, that your mercies are new every morning. Transform me, Jesus, by following your ways.

  5. "For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us."

    Father, you forgive us not only with the blood of Jesus but for the sake of Jesus. For His glory. Because He is worthy. Because He is the mediator that you are staring at who is pleading on our behalf, with 5 wounds testifying. Jesus is central on all sides of forgiveness. Thank you, thank you, thank you. May I daily confess my sins to you with sincerity and humility, that I may delight in your will and walk in your ways for your glory! Amen.
