Why a site about prayer?

The purpose of this site is to encourage us to each go deeper in our prayer life. One way that we do that is by praying together. Another way we do that is by praying individually yet collectively on the same prayer themes. Our hope is that as we share prayers and reflect on them and pray over them at the same time in our individual lives, the Holy Spirit will speak to each of us and allow us to encourage and edify one another in prayer.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Prayer attributed to St. Francis of Assisi

  1. Lord, I long to sow love. Make me truly an instrument of your peace, for your glory. Amen.

  2. Lord, I long to REALLY die to self and live for you. Give me courage to lay down my life. Amen

  3. Lord I want to walk with you through this life and eternal life. I offer you the only thing I have, myself. Equip me with your love, peace and understanding. Amen

  4. make me an instrument of your peace. your love. your pardon. your hope. your light. i am weak and in need of your mercy. i long to be your instrument, yet on my own strength i cause more harm than good. help me to rely on you - to always seek you first - to trust you with everything. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, for i am a sinner.

  5. Let me sow love. Peace. Faith. Hope. Light. Jesus, fix my eyes on you. I surrender all of me to all of you - make me an instrument of your goodness on this earth. Amen.

  6. Lord Jesus, it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Let this be where I die. Amen

  7. Jesus bend me and break me mold me. I long to be an instrument of your peace. Make it so Lord, make it so. You are my rock. Amen.

  8. Light of the world, take over my spirit, soul and body. I want to obey, make me able to do those things impossible for me yet completely possible for you. Peace. You are my peace. Amen

  9. You are the holder of my peace - and I long to be your instrument. Sow in me all of the seeds of your Spirit that I may bring life to those whom I meet. For your glory, Jesus my Lord and brother. Amen.

  10. Lord my life is but a vapor. I want to live each day filing up within by your Holy Spirit and overflowing as an instrument of your peace by that same Holy Spirit. Speak Lord, to me and through me. If this be my last day, may it glorify you. Amen
